Reteti
Reteti Elephant Sanctuary is a groundbreaking community-owned elephant orphanage located in the Namunyak Conservancy in Samburu, northern Kenya. Established in 2016, Reteti is the first community-owned and run elephant sanctuary in East Africa, operated entirely by the local Samburu community. The sanctuary rescues orphaned and abandoned elephant calves from across northern Kenya, providing round-the-clock care and specialized milk formulas to help them survive.
